Flood Watch issued May 16 at 3:05AM CDT until May 17 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bienville, Caldwell, De Soto, Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine and Winn and Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine and Shelby. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will increase and become more widespread by Thursday afternoon and continue through Friday. Neches River Near Diboll affecting Tyler, Angelina, Trinity, Houston and Polk Counties. Neches River Near Alto affecting Anderson, Houston, Cherokee and Trinity Counties. Neches River Near Neches affecting Anderson, Houston and Cherokee Counties. For the Neches River...including Neches, Alto, Diboll...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River near Diboll. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Lowland flooding will slowly decrease for the next several days. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 15.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:15 AM CDT Thursday was 16.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.2 feet early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.2 feet on 07/19/2007. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
