Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing high levels of ozone pollution in the Houston, Galveston, and surrounding areas on Sunday. You can help prevent ozone pollution by sharing a ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work, avoiding drive through lanes, conserving energy and keeping your vehicle properly tuned. Brazos River near Rosharon affecting Brazoria and Fort Bend Counties. For the Brazos River...including US 59, Sugar Land, TX, West Columbia, Bryan, Hempstead, Bellville, San Felipe, Richmond, Rosharon...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Brazos River near Rosharon. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 47.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 44.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 42.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 AM CDT Saturday was 44.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 46.9 feet early Thursday morning. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 43.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 47.1 feet on 07/12/2007. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
