Flood Advisory issued May 16 at 9:32AM CDT until May 16 at 12:30PM CDT by NWS San Angelo TX * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Coke, Irion, Runnels and Tom Green. * WHEN...Until 1230 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 931 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... San Angelo, Miles, Grape Creek, Orient, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, San Angelo State Park, Carlsbad, Tennyson, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Water Valley, The Intersection Of Highway 208 And Ranch Road 2662, Harriet and Us-87 Near The Coke-Tom Green County Line. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... College Hills and Millbrook, Howard and Webster, Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch, 300 block of North Archer, Huntington and Sunset, FM 1692 crossing The Draw, Huntington and Sunset and Sul Ross At Red Arroyo Crossing. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
