Special Weather Statement issued June 4 at 8:53PM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX Temperatures overnight will fall into the low to mid 80s with heat indices remaining in the mid 80s to mid 90s across Deep South Texas. This will provide little relief from the heat tonight into Wednesday morning and could lead to heat related illness.

Heat Advisory issued June 5 at 2:00AM CDT until June 5 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Heat index values up to 115 degrees expected. * WHERE...All of Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley except the island portions of Cameron, Willacy, and Kenedy counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors, workers, and the elderly. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit exercise and strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Death is possible to unprepared people and pets.
