Flood Watch issued July 6 at 2:59AM EDT until July 6 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas, Atlantic, Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Camden, Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Southeastern Burlington, Sussex, Warren and Western Monmouth, and Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Carbon, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Monroe, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional heavy showers and thunderstorms will impact the area today. Localized rain amounts of over 2 inches in an hour will be possible, leading to areas of flash flooding. Flash Flood Warning issued July 6 at 11:09AM EDT until July 6 at 2:30PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 1109 AM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with significant flooding around Kresson Road and Cropwell Road. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Cherry Hill, Evesham, Mount Laurel, Deptford, Voorhees, Glassboro, Lindenwold, Bellmawr, Woodbury, Pitman, Clayton and Berlin. This includes the following highways... Interstate 295 in New Jersey near mile marker 12...and between mile markers 29 and 41. Atlantic City Expressway between mile markers 36 and 44. New Jersey Turnpike between exits 2 and 4. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
