Special Weather Statement issued July 18 at 5:23PM PDT by NWS Elko NV At 522 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Clover Valley to 14 miles southeast of Ruby Valley to 11 miles northwest of Currie. Movement was east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Heavy rainfall along with gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Clover Valley. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until these storms pass.
