Flood Warning issued June 15 at 9:57PM CDT until June 16 at 8:00AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Nebraska, including the following counties, Antelope, Boone, Cuming, Madison, Pierce, Stanton and Wayne. * WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 955 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. No additional rain is expected overnight. - This includes the following streams and drainages... North Fork Union Creek, West Fork Maple Creek, Taylor Creek, North Fork Elkhorn River, Hadar Creek, North Taylor Creek and the Elkhorn River. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Norfolk, Pierce, Stanton, Battle Creek, Wisner, Beemer, Pilger, Meadow Grove, Hadar, Hoskins, Lake Maskenthine Recreation Area, The Highway 57 and 32 Junction, The Highway 15 And 32 Junction, Willow Creek State Recreation Area, Aloys, The Highway 9 And 51 Junction and Omaha Reservation. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
