Extreme Heat Warning issued July 12 at 3:17PM MDT until July 13 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Glasgow MT * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 103. * WHERE...Daniels, Northern Phillips, Northern Valley, Southwest Phillips, and Western Roosevelt Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will struggle to drop below 65 degrees at night, so make sure to have ways of keeping the air cool in apartments and homes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
