Extreme Heat Warning issued July 12 at 11:13AM MDT until July 13 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Glasgow MT * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with highs between 99 and 111 today. * WHERE...Daniels, Northern Phillips, Northern Valley, Southwest Phillips, and Western Roosevelt Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses are part of the story during extreme heat and high humidity events like this. Make sure to limit time in the sun. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will struggle to drop below 65 degrees at night, so make sure to have ways of keeping the air cool in apartments and homes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Fire weather zones 136 and 137. * WIND... South at 10 to 20 gust up to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY... As low as 8 percent. * THUNDERSTORMS... dry lightning and erratic gusty downdraft winds from any thunderstorm or rain shower. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in these areas of this Red Flag Warning.
