Special Weather Statement issued July 11 at 2:47PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA At 246 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Walker to near Plaquemine. Movement was northwest at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, Denham Springs, Plaquemine, Port Allen, Oak Hills Place, St. Gabriel, Walker, Addis, Brusly, White Castle, Rosedale, Grosse Tete, Westminster, Watson, Central, Pride, Shenandoah, and Greenwell Spring. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 139 and 173. Interstate 12 between mile markers 1 and 16. Interstate 110 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 8. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in New Orleans.

Special Weather Statement issued July 11 at 2:29PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA At 229 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms capable of producing funnel clouds near White Castle, or near Donaldsonville, moving north at 25 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Gonzales, Donaldsonville, St. Gabriel, White Castle, Sorrento, Prairieville, Paincourtville, Geismar, Carville, and Belle Rose. This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 169 and 188. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
