Flood Warning issued May 19 at 7:16PM CDT until May 20 at 12:15AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Central Kansas, including the following counties, Marion, McPherson and Rice. * WHEN...Until 1215 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 716 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen in some areas. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mcpherson, Lyons, Hillsboro, Sterling, Moundridge, Inman, Galva, Canton, Little River, Goessel, Chase, Bushton, Geneseo, Ramona, Lehigh, Alden, Windom, Durham, Tampa and Raymond. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
