Flood Watch issued June 21 at 9:59AM CDT until June 21 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An additional round of showers and storms producing heavy rain will be possible this afternoon, causing additional flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flood Warning issued June 21 at 9:17AM CDT until June 24 at 8:06PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Kansas... Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties. Neosho River near Erie affecting Neosho County. Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties. Neosho River near Chanute affecting Neosho and Allen Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Parsons. * WHEN...From late tonight to Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Flood waters spread over fields to a distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several county roads, mainly along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience water entering their homes at basement levels. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 10.7 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 25.2 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
