Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued July 2 at 2:46PM CDT until July 2 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 437 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA FLOYD MITCHELL IN NORTHEAST IOWA ALLAMAKEE CHICKASAW CLAYTON FAYETTE HOWARD WINNESHIEK IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN CRAWFORD GRANT THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CHARLES CITY, CRESCO, DECORAH, ELKADER, NEW HAMPTON, OELWEIN, OSAGE, PLATTEVILLE, PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, AND WAUKON.

Flood Watch issued July 2 at 11:35AM CDT until July 3 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI Much of the area received heavy rainfall overnight especially along and south of Interstate 90 across southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin. Many rivers and low lying areas are already flooding or experience high water with more rain expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek and Wisconsin, including the following counties, Crawford, Grant, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland and Vernon. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Much of the area received heavy rainfall overnight especially along and south of Interstate 90 across southeast Minnesota and southwest Wisconsin. Cedar River at Charles City affecting Floyd County. .Heavy rain falling in the upper reaches of the Cedar River Basin in southern Minnesota combined with forecast rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours will lead to flooding on the Cedar River in Charles City. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cedar River at Charles City. * WHEN...From late tonight to Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, Riverside Drive at St. Marys Street begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 3.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 17.5 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
