Flood Watch issued July 4 at 10:11AM CDT until July 4 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois, including the following areas, Mercer and Rock Island and Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry IA, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott and Washington. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of slow moving storms today over a saturated ground to bring an elevated risk for flash flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Iowa River at Marengo affecting Iowa and Benton Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Iowa River at Marengo. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Extensive inundation of agricultural land. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.5 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to 15.9 feet early Tuesday morning. It will then fall early Wednesday morning. It will rise to 16.9 feet early Friday afternoon. It will then fall again but remain above flood stage. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. The next statement will be issued by Sunday morning at 945 AM CDT.
