Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Northeastern Cullman County in north central Alabama... * Until 1045 PM CDT. * At 940 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Geraldine to near Aurora to Steele, moving northwest at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Albertville, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab, Crossville, Geraldine, Grant, Douglas, Lakeview, and Union Grove. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Damaging wind and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers.
