Flood Warning issued May 22 at 8:55AM CDT until May 22 at 11:00AM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of north central Iowa, including the following county, Butler. * WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams are still rising in some areas due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. In addition, significant ponding remains in place. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 855 AM CDT, Emergency management reported that flooding continues across the warned area. Several roads remain closed due to water over the roads. For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to weather.gov/desmoines/water. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
