Wind Advisory issued May 20 at 1:36AM MST until May 20 at 7:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ * WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 55 mph expected. * WHERE...Little Colorado River Valley, White Mountains, and Navajo Nation. * WHEN...From 8 AM MST /9 AM MDT/ this morning to 7 PM MST /8 PM MDT/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could snap resulting in a few power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Patchy blowing dust will lead to reduced visibilities, resulting in hazardous driving conditions at times. Secure loose outdoor objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, such as RVs, campers, and tractor trailers. Use extra caution.

Red Flag Warning issued May 20 at 6:57AM MST until May 20 at 7:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ MST Mon May 20 2024/ ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MST /11 AM MDT/ THIS MORNING TO 7 PM MST /8 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN ARIZONA... * AFFECTED AREA...Locations near Chinle, Dilkon, Eagar- Springerville, Holbrook, Kayenta, Kykotsmovi, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Saint Johns, Sedona, Seligman, Shonto, Snowflake-Taylor, Tuba City, Valle and Winslow. This includes portions of the Coconino National Forest, Kaibab National Forest, Prescott National Forest and Tonto National Forest. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that start will have the potential to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first responders can contain them. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or are imminent. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidities can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
